About Me
My name is Audrey Bannon and I’m a second year Political Science major who is exploring minors in both French and Statistics. I was born and raised in Riverview, Florida which is a rural-ish suburb about thirty minutes south of downtown Tampa and twenty minutes south of a city twice the size of Gainesville, called Brandon. I have very little experience with techincal media such as blogging, and this is my first blog. I’m taking this course to earn the last 6,000 words required for my Gordon Rule, to earn a humanities credit, and to improve my writing skills as my goal is to someday become a lawyer. My working definition for “experience” is either a) knowledge of something gained through practice or b) an event in which one has partaken that may or may not be considered significant.
This blog is also serving as a forum for me to express the experience of another via my final project. The experience that I am taking the responsibility of expressing is that of domestic abuse seen through the eyes of a sixteen-year-old boy. After witnessing his younger cousin being abused by her boyfriend, he struggles with his understanding of the event and his lack of agency in order to find help.
